Details

Celebrate National Trails Day by coming out and enjoying the Appalachian Trail Festival in the historic town of Hillsboro in beautiful western Loudoun County, Virginia. Stretching for over 2,000 spectacular miles from Springer Mountain Georgia to Mount Katahdin Maine, the Appalachian Trail is the most famous trail in America. This popular annual event honors the Appalachian Trail with information tables from many outdoor organizations, round table discussions with Appalachian Trail thru hikers, skills demonstrations, ongoing live music, and outdoor games. Food wagons available throughout the day. To attend the Appalachian Trail Festival, meet at the Old Stone School on the east end of Hillsboro on Charlestown Pike (Route 9) in western Loudoun County. Come early or stay until the festival closes at the end of the day. Park at the open field parking lot adjacent to the Old Stone School where traffic control will be directing traffic. After arrival follow the signs to the Festival where you will find the Sierra Club table near the stage.
Leaders: Glenn Gillis 571-217-4477, Debra Barbarsky, Sean McCartney, and Dave Torraca.
