Hiking Sweet Run State Park, Loudoun County Virginia

Details

Come out and enjoy a hike at Sweet Run State Park in Loudoun County, Virginia. Once known as the Blue Ridge Center For Environmental Stewardship, one of Virginia's newest state parks is located below the Blue Ridge Mountains and Appalachian Trail just south of Harpers Ferry and the Potomac River. Our 6 mile hike over rolling terrain includes hardwood forests, open meadows, ponds, and meandering creeks. Optional visit to the Harpers Ferry Adventure Center with spectacular views of the Potomac Water Gap after the hike. Bring a daypack, hiking boots, lunch, trail snacks, and two quarts of water. Because of limited parking, meet at 10AM at the parking lot of Neil Boone Park along Harpers Ferry Road just outside the entrance to Sweet Run State Park followed by a very short car pool. Leader: Glenn Gillis 571-217-4477.
