Seneca Creek Greenway Trail

Conservation hike on the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail. The hike is only 4.5 miles over rolling countryside on a close-in, scenic, and pleasant trail. We will hike at a pace of 2 to 2.5 miles per hour and this hike is rated easy to moderate. The very existence of this trail in a suburban area is truly amazing.
What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes; water; snacks, sun hat, sunscreen, tick/insect repellent; face mask for car ride.
Cost: Free; SCPRO requests a $2 donation per person to support our many volunteer-led activities.
Meet: We will meet at the small parking lot by the junction of Brink and Wightman Roads in Gaithersburg, MD (39.20102, -77.20389) on Sunday, 2025 May 25 at 9:30 a.m. We will then carpool to the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail parking lot that is located on Rte. 355 a short distance south of Wheatfield Drive and hike from there. Signup: This hike is limited to 20 participants. Please signup only if you plan to attend. And PLEASE cancel as soon as you know that you will not come. Please sign up for this hike at https://www.meetup.com/sierrapotomac/.
The Sierra Club does not require masks or COVID vaccines to attend Sierra Club Outings. However, if you have COVID symptoms do not attend the outing. There may be both vaccinated and unvaccinated participants on Sierra Club Outings.
