Bike scenic trails and explore historic paths through a beautiful, diverse coastal landscape in and around Cape Henlopen State Park in Sussex County, Delaware.

Cost: SCPRO appreciates a voluntary $2.00 per person donation to support our many volunteer-led activities.
Signup Instructions: All participants including the leader are required to sign a waiver/agreement. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start to read and sign.
Bring: Appropriate gear and nutrition including water for each activity. Biking: water, spare tube, bike lights, bike lock, helmet, sunscreen. Hiking: water, trail sneakers, sunscreen.
Signup Restrictions: This event is limited to 15 participants.
Additional Directions: Embark on a captivating journey through Cape Henlopen State Park's diverse coastal environment, exploring its trails by bike. Begin the adventure at the Seaside Nature Center, offering educational exhibits and a touch tank with local marine life. The exploration continues with a scenic out-and-back bike ride along the park's well-maintained trails to the Lewes Ferry Terminal. You can even borrow a bike for free for up to two hours at the Seaside Nature Center, courtesy of the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park. Next is a visit to historic Fort Miles, a crucial World War II coastal defense site. Tour the fort and its historical grounds and museums at your own pace for free. Cape Henlopen State Park entrance fees: Vehicle: Delaware resident $5.00, Non-resident $10.00. Free for pedestrians or cyclists.

11:00 am Lewes Ferry Terminal Bike Ride.
Start/Finish: Seaside Nature Center.
Outbound Route: Cape Henlopen Bike Trail (~3.5 miles).
Destination: Lewes Ferry Terminal (with a short break).
Return Route: Cape Henlopen Bike Trail (~1.5 miles).
Total Distance: Approximately 5 miles.
Restrooms: Seaside Nature Center, Lewes Ferry Terminal.
