DC Leisurely Tree Walk & Smithsonian Art

One-mile walk about half hour or so from Union Station towards Capitol through mature trees of Senate Park to leisurely visit three demonstration gardens right next to the National Museum of the American Indian. We finish with a visit to the nature-themed sculpture and paintings art exhibit by Native American artist, Truman Lowe, called Water's Edge https://americanindian.si.edu/explore/exhibitions/item?id=1011. See, smell, touch, and identify trees of our Mid-Atlantic area at these OUTDOOR display gardens connected to the U.S. Botanical Gardens glass Conservatory, at Bartholdi Fountain park, and at the Native American Landscape woodlands gardens surrounding the museum https://www.si.edu/exhibitions/native-american-landscape:event-exhib-4712. Enter the museum (with bathrooms) to view the Water's Edge exhibit together. Afterwords, you might choose to eat lunch at the museum's mini-food shop or larger cafeteria, as you like. Find your way home by returning to Union Station or using the Smithsonian, Navy/Archives, or Gallery Place metro stops.
