What we’re about
This is a forum where Deaf and hearing interpreters and others interested in interpreting to share and learn about anything related to Sign Language or Sign Language Interpreting and Technology.
Over the past 3 years remote video technology has played a greater role in our work and . Technologies raced ahead and we have had to change how we work. I think we need a forum to:
- Learn about new technologies and their new features as they continue to develop.
- Examine the innovations along with their benefits and the pitfalls.
- Discuss what changes need to be made in how we work to better take advantage of the new features.
- Come up with ideas of how to avoid the pitfalls and overcome new obstacles presented by new innovations.
- Engage with the developers and innovators to shape technology that is developed to better serve the needs of those people who use Sign Languages to communicate.
The format of the Events will have a topic, there may be designated presenters at times or they may be open for people to participate and share their ideas and opinions.
This is a an experiment. Those who join will shape how it works.
