What we’re about
Welcome to Seattle's original Silent Book Club!
Join us for an hour of reading with fellow book lovers a few times every month. There's no assigned reading--just bring whatever you're already reading (or whatever's at the top of your TBR!). All genres and reading formats (print, audiobooks, and e-readers) are welcome. There's lots of time after the reading hour to chat with fellow readers, swap book recommendations, and get inspired to read something new. Or, if you prefer to skip the chitchat, you can always "read and leave."
We start each meetup with quick intros: your name & pronouns, where in Seattle/area you're from, and what you're reading. These always spark post-reading-hour conversations and we love to see it! After reading, we almost always go for dinner or drinks nearby, and everyone is welcome to join!
Silent Book Club® is a global community of readers, with more than 1000 chapters in 50 countries around the world led by local volunteers. SBC members gather in public at bars, cafes, bookstores, libraries, and online to read together in quiet camaraderie. Learn more here.

To participate: 1. Gift wrap at home some book that you determine will bring joy and happiness to someone (no trash or gag items please) 2. Bring it along and throw it in a pile at the meetup 3. (As determined randomly) Pick out a different book also dropped off here by another reader.
White Elephant rules apply! Anticipate legalized book theft! But if someone steals your treasure(?), you get to pick out another one!! What will you give away!? What will you bring home???
Please note, you can still attend even if you do not want to participate in the exchange
Looking for a peaceful and cozy space to read with fellow book lovers? Join us for our monthly Silent Book Club at the charming Graduate Hotel in Seattle’s U District! Whether you’re diving into a gripping novel, finishing your latest nonfiction pick, or simply savoring a few quiet moments with a book, this welcoming gathering is the perfect way to enjoy reading in good company.
Bring your favorite read, a friend, or just yourself. All book genres, reading mediums, and readers are welcome!

⏳ 6:00 - 6:15 PM → Arrive, settle in, and place orders.
📖 6:15 - 6:30 PM → Brief intros (name, pronouns, what you’re reading).
🤫 6:30 - 7:30 PM → Silent reading time.
