Agenda:

6:00 - 6:15pm: Introduction
6:15 - 7:15pm: Kelly Robertson, CISSP - AI EE I EE I O: Embracing AI in InfoSec with Confidence
7:15 - 8:00pm: Networking

Join us for a session that promises not only practical knowledge transfer and actionable strategies but also a genuine passion for securing our collective interests.

Summary of the talk:
Just as Old MacDonald learned to understand the creatures in his barnyard, we'll equip you with the due diligence and due care needed to confidently assess, deploy, and govern AI in your security operations.
Drawing on real-world examples, including recent controversial applications of AI in content moderation (like Meta's announcements), we will explore:

  • Interrogating the "AI" Under the Hood: Beyond the marketing hype, what questions should you ask about the AI technology stack in security tools? Learn to differentiate between genuine AI capabilities and simpler statistical processes, and how to spot potential pitfalls like inherent biases and spurious correlations, especially with the rise of public LLMs.
  • The AI Security Technology Trial: Practical, hands-on best practices for trialing AI security tools in your environment. Discover how to rigorously test for efficacy, identify unforeseen risks, and proactively design compensatory controls (policies, procedures, governance, and audits) to ensure the technology doesn't introduce unplanned vulnerabilities.
  • AI vs. AI: Navigating the Looming Battlefield: Confront the predictions of an escalating cyber arms race between AI-powered attackers and AI-powered defenders. We'll discuss the advanced offensive capabilities enabled by AI and the defensive countermeasures available, focusing on how to maintain human oversight and strategic advantage in this evolving landscape.
  • Orchestrating Confidence: Influencing Secure AI Adoption: Learn how security teams can effectively inform and influence organizational leadership to adopt robust policies and procedures for operating AI security tools. We'll share practical examples of governance frameworks, human-in-the-loop protocols, bias remediation plans, and adversarial AI testing policies to build a truly resilient "AI-enabled farm."

Join us for a pragmatic, insightful, and memorable discussion that will empower you to embrace the future of AI in InfoSec with clarity and confidence.
