Play Out serves the 56% of Gen Z that shops outside of their assigned gender - like no other lifestyle brand is doing today - and is building community in Web3 for inclusive self-expression. Abby will be in conversation with Shawn Flynn, Investment Banker and Host of The Silicon Valley Podcast, about the future of fashion, next generation consumers and how they’re shopping, and the impact of technological advances on fashion in the real world and the metaverse - what are they, and why are they significant?

Abby’s personal life motto is f*cking figure it out – so she set out to build the brand that she and her cofounders wish existed when they were younger. As an outgoing, unapologetically queer startup founder, she strives to be a leading voice in and for the LGBTQ+ community. A Founder Institute Select Portfolio Company and named to the Forbes Next 1000 List in 2021, she speaks on podcasts, international panels, and gives frequent interviews about startups, fashion, diversity and inclusion, and topics important to LGBTQ+ individuals.
Play Out came from a personal need for gender-expression affirming apparel to exist. Every person should feel able to authentically express themselves and move through the world with positivity and ease. Clothing, and shopping from brands that represent who we are and reflect our values, is a major way that we do that as social beings.
Shawn Flynn - Investment Banker, Host of the Silicon Valley Podcast
Shawn brings his international experience working with all stages and sectors of businesses to his role as Principal at a premier middle market investment bank with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financial restructuring, and valuation.
Shawn holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UCSD and speaks Mandarin and Spanish (lived abroad for almost 8 years) and he is the host of the award-winning Podcast "The Silicon Valley Podcast"
