What we’re about
Rotary clubs are worldwide service organizations that also stress socializing in and out of the clubs. This MeetUp group will introduce people to the Silicon Valley Rainbow Rotary Club, the second LGBTQIA+ Rotary Club in the world.
We are looking for people that are either members of the LGTBQIA+ community or allies. Our primary focus is on community service projects in the LGBTQIA+ community, however, we are not limited to only that.
Our meetings are held once a month and currently are held online via Zoom. We discuss projects and project ideas. We also hosts socials to stay connected with each other. Along with our focus on community service, we provide opportunity for professional and personal development. Rotary opens the door to many possibilities!

End Polio Now Bingo Fundraiser
Location not specified yetABOUT THE EVENT: On Friday, October 24, 6-7:30 p.m. PT, join Silicon Valley Rainbow Rotary on Zoom for a virtual game of Bingo to celebrate World Polio Day and support the Rotary PolioPlus Program.
World Polio Day is an annual global event observed on October 24th to raise awareness, inspire action, and gather resources to eradicate polio, a life-threatening, preventable disease caused by the poliovirus. Established by Rotary International to commemorate the birth of Jonas Salk, who developed the first polio vaccine, the day celebrates progress made by partners like the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) and encourages continued commitment to achieving a polio-free world for every child.
The Rotary PolioPlus Program is Rotary’s initiative to eradicate polio worldwide. With donations of over $2 billion and selfless volunteers helping with vaccines, we have protected 3 billion children in 122 countries. Polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan – although efforts are focused in these countries, Rotarians are working to ensure all countries remain polio-free.
Bingo cards are $10 each – no limit on the number you purchase and donations beyond the cost of cards are welcome. A majority of the funds raised from this event will be donated to the Rotary PolioPlus Program. Winners of games will receive Rotary-branded goods.
Our Bingo events are a great learning experience – instead of just bingo space numbers, we use fun facts that entertain and educate you. You’ll walk away feeling a bit smarter and ready to sign up to be a Jeopardy contestant!
HOW TO ATTEND: Please contact us at svrainbowrotary@gmail.com if you would like to attend – we’ll provide the Zoom link and your Bingo card(s) to you once we have received payment for your Bingo card(s).
HOW TO PAY: You can pay via Venmo (@Marla-Johnson-01), Zelle (renee@reneejdesigns.com or 408-832-8723), or PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=XTMRP63TEM688).
ABOUT SILICON VALLEY RAINBOW ROTARY: We are an inclusive group of LGBTQ+ and allies who have come together to build friendships, serve the community, and create coalitions with others to connect with and enhance the lives of those in our local and international communities. Chartered in 2019, we are the second LGBTQ+-focused club in the world. Although many of our projects, such as our monthly meals for residents of our local LGBTQ+ inclusive housing shelter and the Billy DeFrank Vintage elder group, focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community, we have also done many projects beyond that: providing holiday stockings for migrant farmers’ children, cleaning up our local neighborhoods, and building a school in Jalisco, Mexico. If you’re interested in membership, please contact us at svrainbowrotary@gmail.com. We welcome all!
