About us
Silicon Valley Robotics is the largest, most exciting robotics cluster in the world and we will be hosting some great events and opportunities in the next year.
Wow -- some quotes from last night: "This is the best meetup I've ever been to!" and "Hands down the best hardware meetup around!"
We are a member-led non-profit business association (501c6) promoting innovation and commercialization of robotics technology. We look forward to your involvement!

ROS By-The-Bay NVIDIA GTC Special Edition
599 Fairchild Dr, Mountain View, Ca, USROS By-The-Bay is the Bay Area's only meetup exclusively for Robot Operating System (ROS) users!
(ps the main event page is on the ROS By-The-Bay meetup or luma)
We're holding a special edition of ROS By-The-Bay as an after-party for NVIDIA GTC in colaboration with Silicon Valley Robotics. We're hoping to cross-pollinate our local ROS community with visitors from NVIDIA's premier developer conference, GTC.
We're also moving locations to accommodate more guests and live demos from Solo Tech's Physical AI Meetup! We'll be meeting at Circuit Launch in Mountain View from 6-9pm on Wednesday, March 18th.
Our guest speakers and events for this meetup include:- Angus Pacala, CEO of Ouster, and Ussama Naal, a senior staff engineer at Ouster. Ouster manufactures LIDAR systems used in a variety of robotics applications and Ouster recently completed an acquisition of depth camera manufacturer Stereolabs. Angus and Ussama will provide an overview of Ouster and Stereolabs products and their future roadmap. They will also discuss their open-source tooling and support for ROS and how this all relates back to physical AI.
- Dhruv Diddi, CEO of Solo Tech, and members of his Physical AI Meetup will be present. Dhruv recently organized a massive physical AI hackathon in San Francisco, and a number of the hackathon participants will be on hand to show off their winning projects.
- Jaime Machuca, perception lead for the Toro Company will discuss how Toro is using ROS in production with their autonomous lawn mowers and his personal work on a replica Disney BDX robot.
- Tours of the Circuit Launch, a hardware and robotics focused co-working facility located in Oakland and Mountain View.
- More speakers are on the way; stay tuned!
Pizza and beverages will be provided. Free parking will be available! The location is easily accessible from the 101 and regional transit.

Bots and Bevs @ SVCTE
Location not specified yetCome Network with other Engineers, and also see a cool high school Mechatronics Engineering program
It's "Bots and Beverages" because it's at a school... so just school appropriate beverages will be served. But we will have good snacks.- Bring your robot demo and your deck!
- We'll have an open mic for robotics demos or introductions.
- Are you hiring? Let everyone know!
- Want to present Your Company Technology or Demo Something Cool. Let me know, and I can provide you with a 15 min time slot
Big thanks to our hosts at Silicon Valley CTE
Come see STEAM Clown's (Jim Burnham's) SVCTE Mechatronics Engineering Class. This "Bots and Beverages" will be at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education High School.
Come hear a short presentation (10 min) by Mechatronics Engineering instructor Jim Burnham, learn how high school students are learning about Robotics. Get a short tour of the Mechatronics Engineering classroom, and see some Student projects. See how you can get involved with shaping the future of education.

Special Request:
If you have- Android Phones - We are going to do a project using wifi-direct and android email server with android's K9 app to run DDD https://sjsu-cs-systems-group.github.io/discdd.net/ and we need factory reset Android phones capable of running Android 13 or better.
- Surplus Robot Equipment, Servos, Motors, Motor Controllers, and other Robot parts, please consider bringing them and Donating them.
- Printers, yes, regular old paper printers. Want to "recycle" them into my class? Bring them. Every year, I need about 60 printers at the start of the year. I'll save them for next year. We salvage parts from them
- Roomba or Neto type vacuums - we are going to build a fleet of hacked Roombas.
- Surplus Through Hole or Surface Mount components, we use them for projects, and practicing soldering.
Agenda:
We do announcements, introductions, demos and tech discussions. If you have a robot to demo, bring it.
After the Announcements and Introductions, we will have- Short Introduction to Jim's Mechatronics Engineering Class
- Demo & Presentation from **** TopClown@STEAMClown.org
- Student demos and Tour of his Mechatronics Engineering class
Then we will have the standard Networking and informal chats until 8:45 pm.
