Blueprint CSS -- I feel like I'm missing something...

I was wondering if anyone out there had used Blueprint (the grid based CSS framework) and could talk about why they did / didn't like it. I'm trying it out on a new project and I feel like I must be missing something.

I'm ending up with markup that is *full* of .span-7, .span-6.last, etc, etc. On the one hand, it's a pretty fast way to control what goes where. On the other hand, it seems like it is hardcoding the appearance of the site into the markup, which is what I thought was a big part of why we want CSS separate from HTML in the first place.

Under Blueprint, I'm doing
	class = "span-5"

seems a little nicer than having
	style = "width: 200px; float: left;"

directly embedded in an element, but not a whole lot different and not at all semantic.

Before trying blueprint I would have written something more like

	<div class="sub_nav">

and then in the CSS, would have controlled how big the sub-nav was, where it landed, etc. That was a pain in the butt sometimes, but at least it seemed like I was doing things the "right" way.

I've tried to track down blueprint based sites on the web to read their markup and see what they are doing, but the few I've been able to find (& the tutorials linked to from Blueprint) seem to have the .span-X stuff all over just like my code does.

Any insights would be appreciated.
