Graph Climbing @ Foothills Park

Details

What do you get when you connect a tree with another tree? That's right... a graph (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graph_(discrete_mathematics)). What about the path you take as you climb from branch to branch and tree to tree? That's a graph traversal. Come and get physical with graph theory Wednesday evenings in Foothills Park.

This park is about 10 minutes' drive south of Interstate 280 on Page Mill Road. Technically, it is for local residents only, but you won't tell anyone, will you? Practice your Palo Alto accent.

The park is full of good oaks for climbing, and they start right at the little parking lot indicated on the map. Unlike our usual locations, this one has good cell service, which should make it easy to find each other.

The only requirements for participation are shoes (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000DT803W/ref=asc_df_B000DT803W5092658/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B000DT803W&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167151490542&hvpos=1o4&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14913119708341449092&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9061323&hvtargid=pla-307241502616) and pants (https://www.arborwear.com/products/pants/tech-2-pants). You are responsible for avoiding the common and uncommon hazards of California tree climbing, including poison oak, snakes, ticks, and of course, falling out of a tree.
