Prong Setting Faceted Stones

Have you ever wondered how jewelers set stones into a prong setting without crushing the stones or the prongs?
You will learn how to prong set round stones. Not only will you learn how to determine stone size for the proper mounting, you will also learn how to properly and securely set the stone without damaging the prongs.

- Saturday, September 20 from 9:30-5:30
- 8 contact hours, ages 14+ at the Silver Peak Jewelry Arts located at 100 E. Cleveland St. Lafayette 80026
- # students: 3 minimum, 5 maximum
- Materials kit fee is $80 which includes practice wheel of 17 settings, 1 sterling silver ring in a size 7, and CZ's . Payment of material fee is due at the beginning of class. Cash, check, or Venmo accepted.
- Each student will work at their own dedicated jeweler's bench.
- Prerequisite: Metals 1, Intro to Metalsmithing or equivalent. Prior stone setting experience recommended.
- We will have optivisors on loan but if you need something more powerful than 3x, then you must bring your own.
The last day to cancel your reservation for a refund or transfer ($25 transfer fee applies) is September 6, 2025.
