What we’re about
Silvers is a project of dinners hosted by the senior generation. To give people access to the authentic stories of wise senior people in Copenhagen.
Each dinner is limited to 8 guests. There is a senior's home, a homemade meal, a story, knowledge, and time.
Who is this for?
- You like dinner parties more than events.
- You value life experience as a resource.
- You understand that meaning is better discovered in kitchens than on TED stages.
- You’re either Danish, international, local, passing through- or none of those. Doesn’t matter. You’re human.

Now, they open their homes for a few guests at a time to share a homemade meal and life inspiration.

This next evening takes place at Claire’s home by the lakes in Østerbro.
Claire is a Jamaican artist, teacher, and storyteller who has lived in Denmark for over 30 years. She is part of the senior generation at Silvers, and brings decades of experience. She is one of the most creative minds we have been lucky enough to meet with this project, always thinking of what she can invent or create from scratch. The evening includes a homemade Jamaican supper, with savoury and sweet toppings on traditional water crackers, Jamaican coffee (and optionally rum), and simple desserts like coconut drops and biscuits. You’ll eat together while Claire plays Jamaican music and presents stories and a slideshow of images from her life in Jamaica.
At some point during the evening, Claire will move on to guide a small creative crafts activity, a chance to work with your hands, continue the conversation, and be guided by Claire's passion and expertise. The atmosphere is informal, curious, and shaped by own Claire’s life experience and perspective.

About Claire
Claire is an artist, teacher, and storyteller with a background in sustainability, creativity, and cross-cultural exchange. She has spent over 40 years working with recycled materials, mentoring students, and bringing people together through hands-on learning.
Originally from Jamaica, she has made Denmark her home for more than three decades. She’s loves experimentation, and her philosophy is simple: “Nine times out of ten, things might not work, but that one time they do, it’s better than you could have imagined.”
Claire is the type of person who brings her wisdom, stories, and life experience to every conversation.***

Karen Blincoe has spent over 30 years working at the highest levels of sustainable design and education. She has pioneered sustainability initiatives such as founding the ICIS Center and co-founding Chora 2030 in Denmark, published research, books, and shaped national agendas. But now, after decades in the field, she's asking a question most sustainability experts don't dare to:
What about humanity is making sustainability impossible?
At this dinner, hosted in Karen's own home in Hornbæk, she invites 8 guests into a rare conversation: honest, challenging, and human. The theme is sustainability, but not the buzzword version. Karen is someone who has spent decades in her field and is still brave enough to question its core assumptions.
During this dinner, Karen brings you into the real life version of sustainability for a meal and conversation around the table. Into a home designed with intention and a life built on daily choices. She will lead the evening in her own way.
Karen is a designer by background. She founded sustainability centres, directed Schumacher College in the UK, and recently published Achieving Sustainability: The Ultimate Human Challenge. But what stands out is her presence: bold, clear, and sharp as ever. She thinks out loud with you, bravely.
Human tip: Karen has the brilliant ability to make complicated ideas simple. You'll leave this evening understanding more of the patterns in the world around you.
