About this community dinner
Silvers brings people into the homes and kitchens of the senior generation to share a meal and the knowledge they’ve gathered over a lifetime.
This is our first big Silvers Community Dinner! A big gathering to brings together the whole Silvers community: our hosts, our guests, and new faces who want to be part of what we’re building.
25 people will gather around one long table for an evening of homemade food, stories, and conversation.
Led by Youssra, our own Syrian grandmother, and some of our other Silvers hosts will be among the guests too.
It’s a chance to meet people across generations, share a meal, and feel what Silvers is really about: food, wisdom, and genuine human connection.
About Youssra
Youssra grew up in Syria in a home where cooking was the center of everything.
After moving to Denmark, she spent her life teaching English and raising her family, always cooking, always taking care of people.
In her 60s, she started her own catering business, Youssra’s Kitchen, and now cooks full-time from her home kitchen, with the door open and Syrian music playing.
She’s full of stories about food, migration, and resilience, and she loves to cook and tell stories for big groups of people, to bring them together.
The food
A Levantine feast inspired by her own mother and grandmother:
✨ Her signature rice dish Al Kapsa, multiple other Levantine traditional sides and mains, and her beloved dessert Warbat.
