Early Lake Mackintosh Paddle, Food Truck lunch @ Red Oak brewery

Details

Paddles wet at 9:00 (arrive by 8:30 see below) to enjoy Lake Mackintosh in Alamance Co. Brisk paddle out to make it up pretty Little Alamance Creek at far left end, break for water and dip (officially no swimming allowed on lake), and then head back to the ramp by 1pm stopping at the old rock quarry on the left. Afterwards we'll lunch at the brewery (1/2 mile away) Brewery has a food truck Dickie Do's Pig Rig 12-8pm scheduled. Worried about being stinky? Good bathrooms at Marina would allow you to change clothes for the brewery.
If your day is busy you don't HAVE to do lunch with us, but we hope you'll join us ;- )
WARNING! There are two marinas on Macintosh, come to the right one below!
We will put in at:
Guilford-Mackintosh Park & Marina
1345 NC 61 NORTH
Whitsett, NC 27377
(336) 449-2078 Take exit 138 on I-40 for NC-61 toward Gibsonville
[Guilford-Mackintosh Park & Marina | Burlington, NC - Official Website (burlingtonnc.gov)](https://www.burlingtonnc.gov/240/Guilford-Mackintosh-Marina)

*Note: Use the address above to get to boat ramp for non-motorized boats only. DO NOT go to other ramp across the lake off Huffman Mill Rd. (The WRONG one is called Lake Mackintosh Marina.)

There is a launch fee: $5 per kayak/ seniors (60+) $3. BRING CASH

Paddles wet at 9:00. Please give yourself sufficient time to check in/pay at park office (which can be busy), drive to ramp and unload (small beach area) then park in lot approximately 300 yds from ramp (it's a bit of a walk but not too bad).

Post paddle, we can drive a short way back up/north on Rt. 61 to lunch at Red Oak Brewery in their beer garden. Brewery's menu includes a great brat, pretzels with beer cheese and of coarse brews. They usually have a wine choice as well. Link: ***https://redoakbrewery.com/lager-haus-biergarten***

1.You must wear a PFD (life vest) and bring a whistle while paddling with SK.
2.Bring sunscreen, water, snacks/lunch, sunhat, etc.

And, remember....SK is a club for getting paddlers together, and can never be responsible for your safety or convenience. More fun, less drama!
