Lake Mackintosh paddle and Red Oak brewery stop

Details
Paddles wet at 10:30 (arrive by 10:00, see below) to enjoy Lake Mackintosh in Alamance Co. Highlights include an old quarry, a tunnel under I-85/40, and maybe a pretty rocky area in the narrow part of Little Alamance Creek, if water levels let us get there. We'll paddle up 2 hrs, break for lunch or a snack and get back to the ramp by 2:30ish. End time is just an estimate. Our event end time is 4:00 because I'm allowing time at the brewery. :-)
We will put in at:
Guilford-Mackintosh Park & Marina
1345 NC 61 NORTH
Whitsett, NC 27377
(336) 449-2078 Take exit 138 on I-40 for NC-61 toward Gibsonville

*Note: Use the address above to get to boat ramp for non-motorized boats only. DO NOT go to other ramp across the lake off Huffman Mill Rd. (The WRONG one is called Lake Mackintosh Marina.)
There is a launch fee: $5 per kayak/ seniors (60+) $3. BRING CASH
Paddles wet at 10:30. Please give yourself sufficient time to check in/pay at park office (which can be busy), drive to ramp and unload (small beach area) then park in lot approximately 300 yds from ramp (it's a bit of a walk but not too bad).
Post paddle, we can drive a short way back up/north on Rt. 61 to rehydrate at Red Oak Brewery in their beer garden. There are food trucks too. They usually have a wine and some non-alcoholic choices as well.
1.You must wear a PFD (life vest) and bring a whistle while paddling with SK.
2.Bring sunscreen, water, snacks/lunch, sunhat, etc.
And, remember....SK is just a club for getting paddlers together, and is not responsible for your safety or convenience. More fun, less drama!
