Eco-Tourism Day Trip - Great Coharie River & Coharie Tribal Museum
Details
Experience one of the four rivers in Sampson County (South River, Little Coharie River, Great Coharie River, Six Runs) with a Coharie Tribal member. The adventure begins on a 7 mile stretch of Great Coharie River, and finishes at the Coharie Tribal Center and Museum, where you can see the 600 year old canoe and tour the museum! THIS IS A Limited #s trip and actual cost will follow asap. Date is set, so please don't sign up unless you are committed to the weekday Wednesday and the cost.
Tour requires a 70-80$/person fee to contribute to their conservation efforts. Supply your own boats (plastic) or use theirs, carpool if possible, help with shuttle, if you don't want to use their kayak transport.
Details, like cost of the tour, is not totally set right now. Their usual 2 mile River trip cost 50$ including their boats/shuttles. For this 7 mile trip it will cost more, I just don't know how much more. Please keep in mind it's for conservation efforts of volunteers, and there are no official boat ramps to put on. They are an all volunteer organization. So stay posted and committed please.
