Lets explore Great Alamance Creek starting from Swepsonville Lower River Park Access, 2472 Boywood Road, Graham

cold water makes this not a good paddle for beginners. also, SK is no longer welcoming inflatable or other very fragile kayaks on our trips due to difficult past experiences.

We'll start by paddling up Great Alamance Creek towards it's source Lake Mackintosh for 1.5 hours, then set a course back to put in. This might involve scooting over logs/rocks, so plastic (scratch-able)/ non inflatable boats are needed. we’ll stop somewhere for lunch, and have a somewhat relaxed pace. optionally paddle a up haw a bit, and check out the rocky area if enough water. i haven't been at this location for a while, but i'm sure we can find a place to stretch legs and have lunch.

GEAR: this cold water paddle is for more experienced paddlers, and requires Drysuits or Wetsuits, or minimally wear non-absorbent clothing (not cotton) and bring an emergency change of clothes in a drybag. Falling into cold water can be dangerous!
WEATHER:
Ambient temperatures forecast unseasonably warm in high 70, but the water is still dangerously cold!
