Let’s paddle atkinson millpond! we haven’t been there for quite a while, and I think we will have enough water after recent rains

The launch is behind the grain silos, and to the left (see event photo). Unless repairs were done, pretty unlikely, the parking lot has some potholes that are big enough to swallow a tiny car, so be very careful to weave around them.
We launch at a cement ramp there, and will gladly help tote everyone’s kayak to the ramp.
Expect to paddle 4 miles or so. It can be a beautiful place, filled with dragonflies
GEAR: it’s always a good idea to wear non-absorbent clothing, and bringing a change of clothes in a dry bag.

Ambient temperatures forecast mid 60s
Please arrive no later than 1015 am to unload, and be in the water by 1030 am.
parking lot is small, so i’m limiting attendance. please don’t sign up if you’re likely to cancel!!
if there is a waitlist, I’ll see what I can do to accommodate. FYI, there are no bathrooms, just a bit of woods
MANDATORY:
when you paddle with SK, you must always wear PFD, and carry a signaling device (whistle / horn).
RECOMMENDED:
Water, a hat, sunglasses, h2o, lunch/snacks,
