Identify Bird Songs at Eno River @ Kings Highway Park, Hillsborough

Eno River is a great place to listen and learn to identify bird songs. Bring your Merlin ID app on your phone or use mine. Great flat water float for newcomers to SK and the area! Lots of shade and cool in the morning. This is the first accessible section of the Eno River below it's tributaries of the West and East Forks. There is no longer a floating dock for put-in, but water levels are such that you'll be able to launch from a low sloping gravel entry that's safe and nice! Let's get out early before heat chases us off the water.

Arrive at the parking lot between 7:30 & 7:45 and we can help each other transport our boats the 50 yds to the water for an 8:00 launch. Bring your wheels even better! Parking lot NOT great for TRAILERS

This will be a relaxing paddle with lots of shade.
The PIN on the map below should get you to the parking lot. Bring PFD, whistle, water, sunscreen, snack. The Village Diner is near by if we want to get a late bkfst or cup-o-joe afterwards together. Or do your shopping at Weaver St. Market afterwards!

I will check weather 2 hrs before and cancel paddle if storms moving in sooner then expected, so watch for updates.
