This is scheduled for the monthly mtg. that Carolina Kayak Club holds. Looks like a great review for anyone that likes to paddle in the winter or first time winter paddler. Think about joining CKC as they present great paddle clinics for all level paddlers with your safety and fun in mind!

Myth: Most people think that they don't need a life jacket 'if they are close to shore', or 'because they can swim' and 'they can put a life jacket on in the water' if they need it.

Fact: In 90% of drownings, a life jacket was not worn. Research has also demonstrated that in cold water, under 59deg F, the risk of drowning increases by 500%, and many of those drownings will occur within 6 feet of safety.
Let's become informed of/review the dangers of Cold Water Paddling by viewing this excellent video.
Thanks to Camille Warren, we have several DVDs with very informative data to share.
