Details
Let’s enjoy a Christmas hike this Saturday in McLean Game Refuge in Granby. The hike will begin in the parking lot off of route 202/10 in Granby, CT.
We will take the Brook Road Trail up to Trout Pond. From there, we will continue on the Brook Road Trail for 1.5 miles up to Spring Pond. We can take a short break at Spring Pond to admire the scenery and enjoy a light snack.
The hike will continue around Spring Pond till we meet up to Esker Road. Esker Road will take us to the 2 mile long Sandy Trail back to the parking lot. All in all we are looking at a 4.5 mile hike.
Please be prepared to hike 4.5 miles. Please bring adequate hiking gear for a winter hike, with plenty of fluids, and a light snack. The preliminary weather forecast looks favorable with bright sunshine and temperatures in the mid-30’s.
No dogs or individuals under the age of 18.
