Our 6th Progressive Christianity Singapore Meetup: 11th Mar 2023, Sat 6pm to 9pm

Our group is having our 6th Meetup on 11th Mar, 6pm-9pm.

Whether you're part of our group (meetup.com or telegram channel) or you just found out about us and want to be part of our community, as long as you can identify with some of the concerns mentioned in our about page, you're totally welcome to join us and be part of our community and this coming meetup.

What Exactly Is "Progressive" Christianity

While there's no universally accepted definition of what "Progressive" Christianity is, if you can resonate with some of our concerns laid out in our about page, and still hold to the early Christian Creeds, then you should be able to fit into this community. If you identity in one way or another as a "Progressive" Christian, you would know that it's a lonely journey believing in some of the things we believe in and questioning some of the things that's expected to be non-negotiable in Christian "evangelical" circles.

It could be that you question how a loving God could send so many people to burn in "eternal hellfire" or that you're unhappy with the way the institutional church has treated the LGBT community or whatever other issues mentioned in our about page.

Wherever you fall in the spectrum of "Progressive Christianity" (and even if you don't like this term!), you're totally welcome and we hope to get to know you!

What's This Community Like?

We're not a church, nor are we here to tell you what you should believe. We're just a small group of "Progressive" Christians that want to get to know others who are like-minded in this area.

We have an active Telegram channel with about 70 people.

Our first meetup saw 20+ people attend, our second meetup 12 people and our third meetup on Zoom had about 13 people (where we were able to meet some of our Singaporean friends living overseas), our fourth Christmas '22 meetup had about 14 attendees and 8 people attended our 5th meetup on 14th January 2023.

Where's The Location Of This Meetup?

The location is still TBA, but it should dinner somewhere along Orchard Road - and we could continue on with drinks/coffee somewhere else afterwards.

If you're not already a member of this meetup, just join this meetup and register for this event on meetup.com and leave your WhatsApp number so we can contact you with more information.

Do note that this Meetup will go ahead regardless of the number of sign-ups here - most signups will be from our Telegram Channel.

PS: If you can't attend this meetup but would like to attend future meetups, we'll be trying to organize a gathering once a month. You can also send a message to the organizer with your WhatsApp number to be kept informed of future meetings.
