Scrum Patterns meet-up #26 - Deliberate Practice in Agile coaching

Details

Agile coaches invest a lot of time in self-development to keep up with novelties - training, workshops, books, conferences. Some go beyond that and engage in reflective practices like supervision. We believe that over time we are going to get better at our craft. But are we? Some researchers claim that what actually happens is that we gain confidence but it doesn't necessarily translates in better outcomes. How often do we get into situations when whatever we thought we knew didn't show up in a great way? Basically, when we didn't raise to the occasion despite tons of read books, impressive amount of training, and even significant hours of working with clients.

So what can we do then?

In this meet-up, we will look into a relatively new approach to professional skills development - deliberate practice. It is an unchartered territory for Agile coaches but I hope we will explore some part of it to evaluate its fitness in our profession. I'll share how we can organise the process of deliberate practice but a big question I have for all of us - 'What essential skills Agile coaches need to demonstrate effectively to create an impact?'.
This gathering will be useful for Agile practitioners who seeking news ways to develope theirs skills and grow professionally.

Important! You will need a computer/laptop to participate effectively as we use Miro collaboration software to work together.
