The upcoming Vocal Jazz Workshop is scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, 2023, right in the heart of Paris. Enthusiasts of jazz are cordially invited to partake in this musical journey with us.

Tailored for intermediate vocalists aspiring to specialize in jazz, this workshop requires a foundational grasp of music theory to fully engage with the curriculum.

Dive into an enriching program encompassing:

• Jazz structures, Chord progressions, Rhythmic nuances, and Count-ins
• Selecting your key, Chart preparation, Tempo and style selection for your piece
• Fundamental Scales in Jazz and Blues
• Techniques for interpreting and phrasing in the Jazz style
• Exploring the distinctions between Swing and Latin rhythms, including groove and count-ins
• Unlocking the art of improvisation as a medium of expression and connection with fellow musicians
• Crafting arrangements and nurturing a distinctive musical identity
• Mastering the art of communication with accompanying musicians and understanding Jazz terminology
• Engaging in Circle Songs, a collaborative and improvisational vocal experience

Participants will gain access to:

• Comprehensive workshop materials
• Lead sheets for your chosen song in your preferred key
• Refreshments and beverages throughout the workshop

Please remember to bring along a jazz standard you're keen to work on.

Event Schedule:
September 23 - Saturday:

• Morning Session (10 AM - 12 PM): Delve into Jazz forms, Chord progressions, Rhythmic intricacies, Lead sheets, Repertoire selection, Popular Jazz standards, Key selection, Speech-level singing technique, Jazz phrasing, and Jazz singing guidelines.
• Lunch Break (12 PM - 2 PM): While lunch arrangements aren't provided, you can secure reservations.
• Afternoon Session (2 PM - 4 PM): Embark on a journey through Swing dynamics, Singing techniques for Swing tunes, Exploring diverse tempos and Count-ins for Swing tunes at varying speeds, Interpretation techniques, Fundamentals of improvisation, Learning a new song (or refining one you're familiar with), and Introduction to Scat singing.

September 24 - Sunday:

• Morning Session (10 AM - 12 PM): Explore the realm of Blues structures, Blues Chord progressions, Stylistic nuances, and Pentatonic and Blues Scales.
• Lunch Break (12 PM - 2 PM): While lunch arrangements aren't provided, you can secure reservations.
• Afternoon Session (2 PM - 4 PM): Elevate your improvisational prowess with an array of Techniques and Approaches, and engage in Circle Songs for a harmonious group improvisation experience.

• Full Weekend: €150
