Cheddar Gorge is a dramatic natural landmark in Somerset, famous for its towering limestone cliffs, prehistoric caves, scenic walks, and as the birthplace of Cheddar cheese. It’s one of the UK’s most impressive outdoor sights and works brilliantly as a coach stop or half-day visit. England’s largest gorge (up to 137 metres deep)

Formed during the last Ice Age, Part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Mix of wild scenery + accessible attractions. You get big views without needing to hike far, which makes it perfect for groups.

Glastonbury Tor, 20–30 min walk up, with incredible views over Somerset Levels, allow ~45 mins total
Glastonbury Abbey Legendary burial site of King Arthur, a peaceful ruins & gardens, Optional paid entry
