Water Guardians is a local environmental outreach program through the Fayette County Water System, offering citizens an opportunity to assist with keeping our vital drinking water reservoirs clean of trash and debris.
Local citizen volunteers take charge of our valuable water resources, bringing their kayaks and canoes, scouring the lakes for trash.
In addition to keeping the water clean, the program also has volunteers picking up trash on the lake banks, parking lots, playgrounds, and asphalt walking paths within the park grounds.
In recognition of participation, the Water System provides each participant with a Water Guardians t-shirt and a free post-event meal on-site.
Volunteer participants are asked to sign up by sending an email to: WaterGuardiansFayette@gmail.com. Please list name, t-shirt size and a daytime phone number in email
All kayak and canoe volunteers must have personal flotation devices aboard and follow all Georgia watercraft regulations.
Fayette Water Guardians is one of the few citizen volunteer programs where you get to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in the county while making a meaningful impact on the quality of our drinking water.
