Dancing! - Saturday Night

This is a fun western-themed nightclub with a big dance floor, a DJ, bars, and live musicians. Hidden in the back, next to the DJ booth, they have a few pool tables. Girls typically get in for free, must be 21+. Dance lessons start 7:45pm-8pm. Cover is $6 for guys and the cost of drinks should be a nice surprise for those familiar with downtown prices. If you're a non-drinker or you just want to drink water...sometimes that's me, we'll party at the same speed.

The Vibe
It has a really laid back vibe and you don't have to dress in full country western attire, it's not that type of crowd. This crowd is there to hangout, dance, drink and enjoy the night. I'll typically show up pretty casual. Ball cap, nice shirt, jeans and cowboy boots. The event is scheduled for 2 hours, it's up to you if you want to stay longer, most people do.

Hanging Out
This will just be a group of people hanging out at Wild West in Cedar Park. You can play pool, dance and maybe have a few drinks on a Saturday night.

Most people come to learn to dance, ask them to dance, practice patience and your basic steps. They'll appreciate it. Remember, we're all just trying to discover a new way to enjoy a Saturday night.

Gentlemen, if you want at least one decent conversation with any girl, learn to dance. Gain enough confidence where you're not thinking about your feet and you'll be surprised how many new conversations you'll have.

Ladies, help the guys learn to lead. If you've ever tried to talk to a man while he's driving you should understand what makes a good follower. Patience and understanding. Give them time to find the beat and get the basic steps down.

Dance Lessons
They don't start right at 7:30pm, the instructor will wait for more people to show up.

Cheaper Drinks
Depending on how much you drink and your group size the money you save on drinks should help, if not cover your Uber/Lyft. Watch out for the Long Island Ice Teas.

Parking
The parking lot does fill up. This Meetup starts before the crowd shows up, so parking shouldn't be an issue. There's an Indian Restaurant, Double Dave's and a Fried Chicken Restaurant next door in case you want to grab a bite to eat before the Meetup.

Many Small Groups
So we show up to a venue in many small groups (4-8) not as a large group. Because if we show up as a large group they'll need to charge us like a Company Outing or a Wedding Event.

The host will find and manage the first table. Once that table fills up you may need to get the next table and let the host know when it is available and how many seats there are. New attendees will be sent to that table until it fills up. We will repeat this pattern until everyone has a seat.

Night Progression
We're there to get the lesson, an open dance floor and time to practice before the crowd. The actual crowd shows up around 10pm. It's a good mixture of ages on a Saturday night.

How to Find Us
Look for the little yellow flag on the table...yes, finding it, can be an adventure. Sometimes, it's best to just grab a drink and take it slow, you'll find us.

Covid-19
We will follow the guidance of the venue. Please bring a mask just in case. If you are sick or experiencing any symptoms, scratchy throat, runny nose, headache, fever, cough, muscle/body aches, fatigue, vomiting...especially, if you can't taste your food, please skip this event. Let's reduce the spread.
