Hi all. I have arranged a group kayaking event on a weekend for us along the Potomac River. It includes all of the equipment and an intro on how to kayak in case this will be your first experience. The special rate for our group is $100 per person but we have to secure a minimum of 10 paid participants and maximum of 16. I would be the first. It is also a 2.25 hour drive to get there (not including traffic or stops for meals) and of course the same to return so this will be an all-day adventure. The kayaking portion will last for 3 hours. The description of the trip is as follows:

Enjoy a three-hour guided trip of a serene and scenic section of the Potomac River on our signature trip. This trip offers your group a "quick start" kayak lesson for beginners and the opportunity to learn about the flora, fauna, and significant history of the Potomac River ecosystem. All our beginner trips are specifically designed for people with limited to no paddling experience (calm water, stable kayaks, friendly instruction).

This trip will happen, no refunds whether it is raining or you decide you cannot attend. If there is lightning when we are scheduled to launch (2pm) we will wait it out. If it is a hurricane, the company will reschedule our trip (again, no refunds) but this is normal for adventure companies. P.S. All monies will be paid directly to the company. I will not make any profit other than the pleasure of your company. :)

Please join us for a three-night stay in Charlotte, NC, where we will play at the U.S. National Whitewater Center for two days. Whitewater Center is home to the world's largest manmade whitewater river and has outdoor activities all year long. Some of the outdoor activities include whitewater rafting, ziplines, ropes course, mountain biking, climbing, jumps, hiking, white water kayaking, flatbottom kayaking, flatwater paddling, deep water solo and yoga.

We are driving two SUVs that can comfortably accommodate 10 people. We can depart from Jackie's apartment complex, Brandywine Hundred Apts, where everyone can park for free. It is approximately an eight hour drive. If you prefer, you can take your own transportation and meet us in Charlotte.

Entrance to the park is at no cost, while activities and programs that require guides and Whitewater Center equipment do require a pass purchase. Activity passes are offered daily and annually and are available online and onsite.

LODGING:
We have rented two attached townhomes through AirBNB at a TOTAL cost of $2300 for three nights. The homes have a total of 8 bedrooms, sleeps 20, has 12 beds, and 5 baths. The cost per person will depend on the number of attendees. For example, if 10 people attend, then the TOTAL cost per person will be $230.
