It’s Balloon Fiesta time again! I will be coordinating chase crew team members for three different pilots this year. There will be a pilots from Albuquerque, Cortland Ohio, one female pilot from out of town for competition flying from Rio Rancho. If you have crewed before, it will be beneficial. Volunteers do not have to help every day, RSVP on the days you can be there. I need 4-5 people for each crew each day. You may also may help on a Balloon Glow event in the evening, but must RSVP for those separately.

All volunteers will meet at 5:15 am (yes that is 5:15 am) to be on the field in plenty of time to meet pilots and get instructions and hit the restrooms before the main event. During the week day mornings, I will not be able to take time off work, but will meet everyone to give out parking passes and information. I should be able to get one or two vehicle passes to get into the North parking lot for the crews. We will arrange to meet, and carpool ride into the field together. Normally, everyone is back to the Fiesta field before 10:00 am. If that doesn’t meet your needs, otherwise you’ll need to make other plans to make it on the field by 6:30 am.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning I need two experienced chase crew members to help a pilot launching from Rio Rancho. These two people must be able to drive or navigate the city streets of Rio Rancho.

Thursday and Friday a local pilot needs help for a special shape balloon for launch and the even glow.

I will be meeting the pilots and getting more information this Thursday night September 29th. I will e-mail whoever signs up with more information and instructions each evening so check your e-mail every night. If you have questions you can e-mail be directly or call 505-301-2460
