Hike Mesa de Los Viejos and the CDT

The CDT crosses the Chama River just west of Ghost Ranch at the old blocked bridge. From there it climbs to the top of Mesa de Los Viejos and generally travels NE till it crosses Hwy 84 just north of the Amphitheater. I estimate total hiking distance of about 8-10 miles total. Elevation gain of about 750-1000 feet. Estimated driving distance of about 130 miles one way. The route is pavement except for the last 5 miles or so, which is normally good gravel road. If enough people want to go, we'll do a key exchange and start from both ends. Meet in the middle and exchange keys and meet up later at a disignated location. If not, then we'll do an out and back. There are great views almost the entire distance of this hike. NO DOGS or WHINERS! I would rate this hike as MODERATE, due to elevation gain. Bring plenty of water and snacks for a long day of hiking in the New Mexico sun. For more information, ask your questions below and I'll answer below.
