Return to Valle Caldera

Since there seemed to be some interest in the Valle Caldera area, I decided to go back and put some unknown sections together, This time we'll start on VC02 from the west side off of Hwy 4 at the Rdondo Meadow Staging Area. We'll follow VC02 east as far as the group wants to go. This is a hike along very old forest service roads to the base of Redondo Peak. Driving distance is about 60 miles one way, all of which is on pavement except for the last 3/4 mile, which is a poor gravel road. Total hiking distance of around 10 miles, but you can return at anytime if you become tired. Elevation gain of about 500 feet or more???? I have not been on the entire VC02 so don't really know. NO DOGS or WHINERS. Westsiders are allowed if they can pass an IQ test for 3rd graders. I would rate this hike as MODERATE, due to distance. Bring plenty of water and snacks for a long day. Be prepared to reimburse your drivers at the rate of $.10 per mile round trip or about $15 for the day. For more information, ask your questions below and I'll answer below.
