Hike : Top of Sandia to Kawinis cabin in daylight, return at night

Let's avoid the heat and hike at 10,000'.
We' hike to the cabin during ending daylight, stop for a snack and the views, and return along the fenced cliff at night to see the twinkling city lights. Bring a light jacket or windbreaker, snack, water and a flashlight.
We'll carpool from Smiths at the Tramway & I-40 location. Gather in the parking lot just east of and close to the gas pumps. Total hike distance
less than 3 miles with elevation gain minimum. Top of the crest is a fee parking area unless you have a federal pass (I do). Weather looks good at this point and calls for a cool breeze at the top. Minimum of 5 hikers required to avoid canceling.
