Hike in Water Canyon west of Soccoro NM

Water Canyon is located west of Soccoro NM off Hwy 60. It has a trail that travels up the side of the mesa wall that goes past an old mining town. There is or was a horizontal shaft that you could enter and also a shaft going down that did not look all that inviting. If your the adventourous type bring a headlamp for light and take your chances. Remember that entering ANY MINE IN NM IS DANGEROUS! Your on your own. Total driving distance is about 100 miles, all on pavement. I hope to hike around 5=8 miles. People tell me the trail is hard to find and it's been many years since I've been there, so we'll do our best at finding the trail and hopefully the distance is about right. NO DOGS OR WHINERS! I would rate this hike as MODERATE, if we find the trail. Elevation gain of about 1000 feet. For more information, ask your questions below and I'll answer below. Be prepared to reimburse your drivers at the rate of $.10 per mile round trip or about $20 for the day.
