Hike in or Near the Valle Caldera NP

We'll hike near Corral Canyon but on the north side of the road into the Valle Caldera. The camera at the Ranger Stations shows very little snow, so be prepared to hike (with gaiters) north of Hwy 4 into the caldera. I have no idea on the elevation gain, but I intend to hike about 5-8 miles through the woods to grandma's house. There will probalbly be no trail so all bushwacking! Driving distance of about 70 miles one way, all on pavement, NO DOGS or WHINERS. I would rate this event as MODERATE due to it's mainly off trail. Be prepared to reimburse your drivers at the rate of $.10 per mile round trip or about $15.00 for the day. Bring plenty of snacks and water for a long day of wandering.
