I plan on hiking the Panchuela Trail #288 up to and maybe pass the caves on the creek. The caves are quite unique in the fact that the creek runs through them and comes out lower in the canyon. If you plan on entering the caves you will probably need a light source and you will probably get very wet. Remember it's late October and getting wet could make for a bad and long day. The drive to the Pecos Wilderness will be about 98 miles one way, all on paved roads. Total hiking distance will be 6-8 miles total, out and back. Elevation gain of around 400 feet, depending on how far we go after the caves. I would rate this event as Moderate if the weather cooperates. NO DOGS or WHINERS! Dress for the weather and bring plenty of snacks and water. Be prepared to reimburse your drivers at the rate of $.10 per mile round trip or about $20.00 for the day. For more information ask your questions below and I'll answer below. If you need to cancel take your name of the RSVP prior to start time.
