CANCELLED: Last Ocho Summer Show in MD! ๐ฎ๐ต๐๐ฝ
Details
Come dance with us as famed Latin pop/rock band Ocho de Bastos plays their last Maryland show of the summer โ a 3-hour twilight delight in Gaithersburg! READ MORE below...
OVERVIEW
If you're not already familiar, Ocho de Bastos (translation: Eight of Clubs) is an amazing local band with a huge meetup following. They play familiar pop and rock songs with an infectious Latin twist to packed dance floors. The band features a Carlos Santana-style guitar sound blended with powerful Latin percussion and catchy brass riffs. The energetic and engaging lead singer guides giddy audiences through Latin-inspired dance moves in the process. More info about the band can be found on Wikipedia and their official website.
IMPORTANT: According to their online schedule, this Friday's show is the LAST Ocho de Bastos event in Maryland for 2026. Whaaaaat?!! (Several shows in Virgina are scheduled later this summer, but nada north of the river.) That could change โ and let's hope it does! โ but it's a huge incentive to join us under the stars Friday evening!
THE DETAILS
RSVPs:
No rules and no worries! Numerous meetup groups are promoting this event. Feel free to RSVP here even if you're already signed up with another group. That way you'll be privy to useful comments and fun photos you might not see elsewhere.
Event/Logistics:
Location: The event takes place at the outdoor Spectrum Stage in Performers Park, located next to Barking Mad Cafe (239 Spectrum Ave, Gaithersburg, MD). Ample free parking is available on nearby streets, surface lots, and garages. The venue has a professional stage surrounded by a large turf-covered village square.
Food options: The Spectrum development is host to many restaurants, both full service and quick serve. See the full selection HERE.
Waste options: Let's face it, during a 3-hour show, nature is apt to call. If ya gotta go, the above restaurants have facilities to serve your needs.
Seating: Seating options are VERY limited. Please bring a camp chair or blanket to ensure there's a place to put your butt when you're not dancing.
Finding us: Your host (Carl, aka PapaDuck), will float a large yellow duckling balloon to help you locate us. Unfortunately I can't save seating space for everyone (four meetup groups!), but we'll all be in the same vicinity and enjoy friendship, a shared love of incredible live music, and a beautiful summer night in great company.
Thanks for your time and attention. We hope to see and dance and celebrate with you Friday evening! :)
