We're in the 2ND WEEK of what our regulars know is our usual 5 (or 6) WEEKS OF "SOCIAL SPRINTING" (meeting every week for five weeks straight). For last week's Midweek we dined with baby vampires 🧛‍♂️👶(meeting at Betelgeuse as a warm up for our Halloween party the following weekend). So for this week, let's take social inspiration from a less macabre mascot ,,,,,,the Wolf !

Lets "STAY HUNGRY FOR THE CHASE" THIS WEEK at HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF !!

For those not familiar, Hungry like the Wolf is Houston's only 80's themed diner. At every turn throughout the diner you’ll find 80’s nostalgia and memorabilia, even including a spinning rubik’s cube disco wall.

But what about the food you say ??? How about an OPTIMUS PRIME BURGER, THE CULTURE CLUB SANDWICH, or perhaps SWAYZE'S SALMON. Like a drink ? there's the THRILLER CHILLER, MAGNUM PI BLUE HAWAIIAN,"WHISKEY" BUSINESS, the LOST BOYS BLOODY MARY ,,,,,🙂🙂🙂 ,,,,Ok you get the picture.

So lets travel "back to the future of fun" (ouch 😣😉🙄) and enjoy a chance to connect with others during the week. All are welcome ! Feel free to bring a friend !

So our "foodie aficionados" familiar with Houston will know there are several restaurants in Houston owned by the Creek Group (think Cedar Creek, Onion Creek, etc.) All of which channel that laid-back, Austin Hill Country vibe that Creek Group owner Gary Mosley first brought to Houston back in 1999. Now ,,,we've been to Cedar Creek for some of our Midweeks this year. So this Saturday, for our afternoon event, let's stretch our wings, move a little further west and check out one of it's sister restaurants, Canyon Creek. Tree-covered patios and a classic Texas brunch menu make this the perfect place to grab a bite and hang on a Saturday afternoon.

So it seems like time is flying quickly (a side effect of having fun I've been told 🙂). This past Sunday was the time change ,,,where we fall back. So let's "Fall Back Into Fun." As our evenings get darker earlier - lets kick things off with "Glow Week" - a full-on celebration of the "Glow In The Dark" Culture, where our Wednesday and Saturday events will feature "Glow In The Dark" themed venues and activities.

And this Wednesday, lets begin the festivities at ✨✨ BLADE RUNNER CAFE✨✨ !!!

For those not familiar,,,, the owner of the Rice Box is a sci-fi fan, and the Rice Box (aka “Blade Runner Café”😊**) locations are specifically designed to channel a Blade Runner vibe. He is such an aficionado, that even the wall tiles themselves are specially designed to emulate the Frank Lloyd Wright Ennis House that Harrison Ford called home in the movie. The sci-fi/cyberpunk feel of the place - DARKNESS CONTRASTING WITH BRIGHT COLORS AND NEON - STANDS OUT ESPECIALLY WELL AFTER DARK !!

So for this event:

From 7 til 9:45ish - Let's "Get Our Glow On" at BLADE RUNNER CAFE where we can indulge in the "casual elegance" of the Rice Box's over the counter take on modern Chinese/American food and various beers and wines. Then ,, since the Rice Box closes at 10 PM ,,,,

From 10ish til ??? - Let's head over to ROSWELL'S for an "After-Glow" where we can keep our "glow" theme going at a bar that provides a unique, full-immersion Black Light/Alien/"Wonderland" vibe that has to be seen to be believed.

So, those who attended our mid-week event at Blade Runner Cafe this past Wednesday will know that - in connection with the time change, with our evenings getting darker earlier, we have christened this first week of Standard Time as "Glow" Week, where we celebrate "darker earlier" with a series of events featuring "Glow in the Dark" themed venues and activities.

And what better way to round out the week than a Saturday night enjoying THE FULLY IMMERSIVE SENSORY EXPERIENCE OF "✨✨BLACK LIGHT+GAME NIGHT✨✨" COMPLETE IN ALL OF IT'S GLORY !!

For those who are new, Black Light Game Night goes FULL ON GLOW ON, giving us a chance to play L.E.D./Black Light versions of fun bar games like Jenga and Beer Pong while our entire area is bathed in the glorious glow of additional glow-in-the-dark swag.

So LET'S CELEBRATE "GLOW" WEEK !! Come join us for a chance to grab a drink, "bask in the glow" and enjoy some bar/party games with a unique twist.
