Hey Everyone,

For this week's Midweek, let's do a "dining drive-by" at a hometown fav - On The Kirb. And while most weeks the "witty event descriptions" (at least IMHO 🙂) ,,, choke full of cleverly placed puns and artful alliteration,,,, seem to roll off the "literary" tongue, this week the meetup muse appears to have taken a sudden sabbatical 😉😉. Oh ,,the memes are abundant ,,,,, "steak it easy", "so ,,,we "meat" again", "going vegan is a "missed steak", and ,,,,,last but not least "a steak pun is a rare medium well done" (ouch ,,, 🙄😣😣). But none of them quite seem to land. So ,,,for this week's enticing event description, I've decided to rely instead on that main stay of business writing ,,,, BULLET POINTS. This week's venue offers us the following:

* On The Kirb is in the heart of Midtown .....so an easy get for many if not most of us (so ,,,yay).
* On Wednesday's they have deals on grass fed fillet mignon (so ,,,yeah ,,,it's a steak night).
* They got a "bronze medal" 🏆 on yelp as one of the best Wednesday night steak nights in Houston (hey we placed ,,,so we'll take it).
* They also have tons of chicken, fish and vegetarian options for the nonsteak eaters among us (so its an "ecumenical" steak night).
* They have reverse happy hour on Wednesday nights starting at 10 PM (why didn't I lead with this one ?? 🤷‍♂️).

As our featured picture alludes ,,,the steaks are already pretty chill. So lets "steak" it easy this Wednesday ,,,,, and enjoy a chance to catch up with old friends and new during the middle of the week. All are welcome ! Feel free to bring a friend !

As I look over our social calendar this week, Google informs me that (technically) summer is quickly (a relative term) coming to a close. In only a couple of weeks (September 22nd to be exact), summer officially makes way for fall with the advent of the Autumnal Equinox.

And as I think back over this past summer ,,,we've had a lot of fun. Along with such mainstay events as 4th of July and White Linen Night, we've also taken some unique twists on fan favs. As "patriotic party-goers" we've done our civic duty by voting for our favorite bars in our Build-Your-Own Bar Hop event. We've "ferreted-out" the fun as we located unique items at our favorite bars during our Scavenger+Hunt+Bar Hop. We've celebrated Christmas in July (yeah ,,,it's a thing 🙂). And just this last weekend, we took a unique approach to Speed Friending (yeah ,,,we've "made it a thing" 😎🙂), with our "If You Could"+Speed Friending Mixer. Now with all this fun ,,,it may be tough to bid summer adieu (heat aside). But fall is fun too. Think Oktoberfest, Halloween, etc.

So this week, let's welcome fall, and the cooler weather it will bring with a SATURDAY NIGHT "CHILL" AT KIRBY ICE HOUSE. The "Ice House" at it's various locations has a long history with our group. And their newest location in the Heights boasts the LONGEST BAR IN TEXAS (at 146 feet in length). So this week, to paraphrase the bard himself, let's "let past be prologue" as we look forward to fall at this venue whose franchise has been frequented by our group from close to the beginning.

This Wednesday, let's check out The Taco Stand. This neck of the woods along Shepherd was recommended to Yours Truly by a "mystery member." So if you're curious, come out on Wednesday and his (or her 🙂) identity will be revealed.
