🎬 Laughs, Local Finds & Good Times with Friends – Pomona's got it all - heritage charm, a 1920s silent film theatre, country markets, a railway gallery, and a mellow mead stop to wrap it up!

Let's step into a day unlike any other - where old world charm meets good company and a few surprises along the way.
Our adventure takes us north to the Sunshine Coast hinterland, where the real star of the show is the Majestic Theatre in Pomona - a vintage gem that's been delighting audiences since the 1920's. During WWII, it screened films six nights a week for Australian and American troops, with locals queuing up outside (and sometimes even hurling tomatoes if they missed out on a seat!) Today, it's the only theatre in the world that still screens silent films with live musical accompaniment, just as they did a century ago.
The perfect day to step away from the usual and enjoy something truly unique - with friends and a touch of vintage flair.

- 8.50 am - McDonalds, 493 Pumicestone Rd, Caboolture (we'll also enjoy a cuppa together here)

• 🧺 Pomona Country Markets (1 hour) - We'll start with a wander through Pomona's relaxing local country markets. Great spot to grab a market lunch to bring into the theatre (no alcohol or coffee allowed inside the theatre, but food is welcome) ✔

  🎹 Get ready to laugh as we enjoy this classic experience with live music on the pipe organ or piano (it’s a surprise who’s performing!)

  Just a 5-minute stroll from the theatre is this quaint little gallery in a heritage-listed station, sharing works from talented local artists
  🌿 Final Stop - A Local Gem with a Twist - Amrita Park Meadery ✔
  To wrap up our day, we'll stop in at Amrita Park Meadery - a small, peaceful spot in the hills with a lovely local feel. You don't have to be a mead lover to enjoy this one - there's also a lovely range of honey products fresh from their own bee hives to check out. It's a relaxed visit where you can try a tasting if you're curious, have a chat with the friendly owners, or just enjoy the surroundings and stretch your legs before our scenic drive back - always more fun with good company on board.

Back in the golden days of cinema, silent films were never truly silent. Live musicians—often on piano or organ—played along with the film, creating all the drama, suspense, and laughter with music alone!
That tradition still lives on at The Majestic Theatre in Pomona. A skilled musician will accompany our screening live, syncing the music to every scene in real time, adding depth and delight to the viewing experience, just as it was done a century ago. It's movie magic with a twist of nostalgia .. something very few places in the world still do!

Refunds and Conditions
- Please ensure your Meetup Email Notifications are ON for attendee updates
- As with all our adventures, No Smoking/Vapour and No Mobile phoning/texting/it while in company as is considered discourteous
Please bring all medications which you would normally take at home
- If you are prone to Motion sickness, please bring appropriate medication with you
- All meals and drinks are your own expense
- Failure to arrive on time will void the ticket entirely with no refunds
- RSVP's close 5 June, or when minimum 8 RSVPs are claimed, whichever comes first.
- Minimum attendees 8 : Maximum attendees 11
- If minimum RSVPs are not attained by closing date 5 June, 2025, a full refund is provided.

- If you cancel after bookings close, I will endeavour to sell your ticket for you, but no guarantees
- Reselling tickets is a courtesy, not an entitlement
- Refunds directed to your bank account only
- Reselling a ticket incurs a $14 Cancellation/Amendment Fee
- Tickets may not be sold after 6 June 2025
- If you resign or are removed from our meetup group, the Cancellation/Amendment Fee still applies ; even if the adventure has not yet commenced
- Tickets may not be passed on to another person without prior approval
- In the event of any changes or amendments to the adventure or itinerary, or reallocation of hosts, there are no refunds.
- Limited Onboard Drinks are mine for sharing
- Motion sickness: If you suffer from motion sickness, please bring any necessary travel mediation to keep the journey enjoyable for yourself and others.
- In the very rare event that a member's behaviour is significantly disruptive and impacts the group's experience, the host reserves the right to discontinue that member's participation in the tour. This includes any unused portions of the ticket, such as return transportation. Unfortunately, no refunds will be provided in these instances, and the member will be responsible for their own return arrangements and associated costs.
