Protecting Black Women: A Collective Conversation between black women

Details

We will explore what "protection" truly means in our lives – encompassing physical safety, emotional well-being, mental health, economic stability, and liberation from various forms of systemic and interpersonal harm. This conversation aims to foster solidarity, share strategies, identify resources, and collectively envision a future where Black women are not only safe but also thrive. We will acknowledge the unique challenges and historical context that Black women face, while also celebrating our resilience and power.

Two movies were recommended at our last meeting to watch before the next meeting. Both were great to me.

Both are on Netflix
Straw
A single mother navigates a series of unfortunate events, leading her down an unforeseen path where she becomes embroiled in a situation she never envisioned, finding herself at the center of suspicion in an indifferent world.

Forever - this is a series
A review - Black love in today's world .Very well written, excellently cast and very well told story. Shines true lenses of where we've come ...were we have to still grow ....and how innocent many of our young black youth are and how well the village brings them through the storm of teenage love to post high school graduation maturity. Well done Netflix well done for representing black folks in a very positive but realistic light. Shout out to the parents roles in this series yaw showed up and showed out with great great transparency ,love and memorable advice to your children!!!!

Really looking forward to connecting with you all!
