SIT DOWN, WAKE UP, AND WRITE -- VIRTUAL

Details
We meet Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., for those seeking to fit their writing work into a busy schedule, and who feel their most creative hours in the morning. Drop ins are welcome, and you do not need to arrive at the start time or stay until the end time.
All writers of all genres, fiction and non-fiction, and all degrees of skill and success, either published or unpublished, are welcome to join us. We use this space to develop a discipline and habit of writing.
Why join us? We support one another to build a daily writing discipline. Writing with us consistently will help you:
- Build confidence. Write something each day.
- Defeat procrastination by using a structured time and place each day for writing with other writers.
- Gain momentum and reach milestones. Feel good about making progress.
- Finish your writing projects. You can say “I did it!”
- Develop your writing craft knowledge and skills.
- Enjoy the company, insights and encouragement of fellow writers.
If arriving after 6:00 a.m. [US, Pacific], no introduction is required. Enter on mute and off video and start writing.
Our format:
From 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 a.m., the doors are open for early arrivals. This is an optional window of time to connect and socialize.
6:15 a.m. -6:30 a.m. we do a short prompt writing "warm up."
At 6:30 a.m - 8:00 a.m. we shift to going off-video and off-audio, to focus on our main writing projects until 8:00 a.m.
At 8:00 a.m. we return to audio-video to debrief.
At 8:15 a.m., we "officially" end, but allow conversations to continue if writers wish.
"People without hope do not write novels. Writing a novel is a terrible experience, during which the hair often falls out and the teeth decay. I’m always highly irritated by people who imply that writing fiction is an escape from reality. It is a plunge into reality and it’s very shocking to the system. If the novelist is not sustained by a hope of money, then he must be sustained by a hope of salvation, or he simply won’t survive the ordeal." FLANNERY O’CONNOR, MYSTERY AND MANNERS

Every week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday until December 29, 2027
