Mayday Mayday! It's the May SRE Meetup.

Details

My fellow Tributes!

This is a reminder and a request.

Our talks for May 2nd at 7pm at Workday will be:

"How Can You Ensure Site Reliability When Dealing with Government APIs in Asia?" to be delivered by Sing Ming Chen, Tech Lead at TikTok.

Technical, Social, Political, Oh My!

We will be following that with: Rational Outages: Reliability, Design Stability, and Incentives by Laura Nolan, Ex-Google, Ex-Slack, Ex-Stanza, Extraordinary.

40 years ago Charles Perrow’s classic book Normal Accidents was published, arguing that accidents are inevitable in complex and tightly coupled systems. John Downer’s Rational Accidents, published this year, asks why, if Perrow was right, commercial aviation can operate with ultra-high reliability and safety?

Now the Reminder: If you've RSVP'd and you can't make it, please update your status with Meetup, we've had a great response to this event and there are a number of folks on the waitlist who'd love to take that slot.

Finally, If you're interested in becoming a speaker for a future event, please reach out! SRECon EMEA's search for talks continues and we're a great practice and proving ground.

Looking forward to seeing more of you than ever before!
Talk Soon!
