what we are doing
Exploring the importance and power of Storytelling, we will go from 'stories' to 'storytelling', look at how to run an interview and how to get the most from your camera.

Ever thought of making a film? What makes a good story? How can you engage your audience and move them emotionally? How can you get the most from your interviewee? What are some composition rules? And what are all those buttons and dials on my camera for?

your chalkler will be
Guy Ryan & Lu Davidson from Inspiring Stories Trust (http://www.inspiringstories.org.nz) will be running this 3-hour workshop as a part of their week-long filmmaking pilot, Summer Shorts. A core crew will be attending the whole week and this workshop is open to anyone to attend.
Guy & Lu both have several years of film production experience and have made Award-Winning documentary films.

what people need to bring
Bring your ideas and some note-paper.
Maybe a camera (anything digital would be best) - not necessary but would be good to practice with.
our cancelation policy
If you RSVP for a class and fail to show up, you will get a "no show". Three no shows means you will be removed from chalkle. You may request to rejoin after six months.
If you cancel your RSVP:

less than 7 days = restricted from this class for three months.

after 7pm night before = class restriction, and a no show will be recorded.
