Chess in the Park – Social Games at Addison Circle

Details
Join Sixty Four Squares every Sunday evening at Addison Circle Park for chess, sunshine, and community.
We set up tables and boards in the shade and welcome everyone — especially beginners and the chess-curious. This is not a tournament. It’s a social hangout where the only goal is connection.
New this summer: Optional “Intro to Chess” beginner class
From 6:15–7:00 PM, we’ll offer a 45-minute small-group lesson for new players.
You’ll learn the 3 most important strategies to start playing confidently — and then join the rest of the group for casual games.
Cost: $15 | Pre-registration required (link will be posted weekly)
Schedule:
6:00–6:15 PM – Soft social start (warm up, say hi, get seated)
6:15–7:00 PM – Beginner class (optional, paid)
7:00–8:00 PM – Full group play and open games
What to bring:
Water and maybe a friend — we provide boards, pieces, and seating.
Java & Hopps is right next to us for coffee or snacks.
All ages and skill levels are welcome.
No pressure. No experience needed. Just come curious — and leave connected.
Make sure to RSVP to get weather updates or last-minute changes.

Every week on Sunday until December 26, 2025
