Using Feedback

Between writing contests, submissions, and coaching programs, several of our members have recently received feedback on their writing from a variety of sources , even outside of the feedback they get from other members of this group. So, our focus for this meetup will be to discuss how to use feedback. This will include tips on how to sort feedback between what is useful and what isn't useful.

Our most important goal remains simple; encourage writers to keep writing, If we can help with that, we will. Beyond our current topic, we'll be exchanging some drafts again this week, mostly scripts, and probably doing more plot point brainstorming as well. In general, we keep trying to help each other out of the corners we have painted and written ourselves into. Essentially, we're still working on all the pesky bits of turning ideas into written documents.

We want to do anything we can to help you finish your current writing projects and start your next great project.
Some of our members and frequent guests are feeling the pressure of looming deadlines, so taking a breath with other writers is a way to keep this from overwhelming anyone.

As usual, join us to discuss the various ways of building your story your way. We will offer input when it's asked for.

The MeetUp is free (as always), but most of us can't resist the food. Meet & Greet starts at 6 PM (don't forget about eating), the formal workshop usually starts at 7 PM, OK, 7-ish, and is frequently more of a discussion than an actual lesson. There will be plenty of time for hands on manuscript work before McAlister's closes at 9 PM. We're usually to the left as you come in, we look like writers.
