Stars Over Yosemite: Public Star Party
Details
San Jose Astronomical Association (SJAA) and the Yosemite National Park are proud to joint sponsor for a stargazing with telescopes event to be held at the Glacier Point Amphitheater.
When it begins to get dark, come look at the night sky from this truly dark site. This event is open to all members of the public from 9pm to 11pm on July 26th, 27th and 28th, 2019.
All are welcome to attend! If you own binoculars, please bring them, but leave all telescopes behind as the site can only handle a limited number of scopes in which the spaces are already filled by the SJAA volunteers who are hosting the star party.
As the weather is always changing, please check back here on the day of the event for more info in case bad weather causes us to cancel the event.
Note: No lodging or camping will be provided by SJAA.
Only pre-authorized SJAA volunteers are allowed to setup telescopes in the star party area. If you are coming as a visitor, please do not bring any astronomical gear to the star party. Just come and enjoy the views from our telescopes."
