Abstract: Join me as we take a brief look at the history of the world’s first permanent mountain top observatory. We will briefly explore the life of Californians first millionaire, James Lick and the accomplishments of the extraordinary gift he left behind.

Speaker: Eric Bricmont has over 20 years of experience in the field of education, as well as cohosting the podcast, Nerds of History for over 5 years (2012-2017). For the past 17 years he has offered his support to the Lick Observatory as a volunteer and volunteer coordinator, helping to bring this important scientific establishment, and astronomy to the public.
